Two-barred Crossbill (Loxia leucoptera)
Generally, when compared with other Crossbill species, Two-barred Crossbills are smaller and slimmer. The wing bars are obviously a key feature (note that wing bars can be seen on some Common Crossbills!) and these are pure white, quite broad and bulge prominently on the inner coverts. The bill is generally similar to, often slimmer, than other Crossbills. A few images from my only encounter - a twitch at a very friendly farmhouse near Bilsdale, (North Yorks) during November 2008.
